A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court accused of attacking a man who confronted youths throwing eggs at his house in Greater Manchester.
The teenager, who cannot be named, appeared at Manchester Youth Court charged with grievous bodily harm.
The 27-year-old victim suffered serious head injuries after being hit with a plank of wood outside his house in Wythenshawe on Saturday night.
The accused youth was remanded into custody to appear again on 8 August.
Police are still searching for another youth seen throwing eggs at the building on Newhey Avenue, Benchill, at about 2230 BST.
The man remains in a critical condition in Hope Hospital in Salford.
