Police hunt for missing schoolboy
11-year-old Joe Geeling
Joe Geeling was last seen in the Manchester Road area of Bury
Concern is mounting for the welfare of an 11-year-old boy who has disappeared in Greater Manchester.

Police spent Wednesday night searching for Joe Geeling after he failed to return home from school in Bury.

He left St Gabriel's High School in the afternoon and was last seen by fellow pupils on Manchester Road at 1600 GMT.

The youngster has cystic fibrosis and needs daily medical treatment. His disappearance is said to be extremely out of character.

Search ongoing

Police said Joe usually walked home from school with a friend, however his friend did not attend school on Wednesday and it is thought he may have walked home by himself.

Officers have been told of a possible sighting of him in the Ainsworth Road area.

Joe is described as about 4ft tall, slim, with short dark blonde hair and a pale complexion. He is believed to be wearing his school uniform of a blue blazer, dark grey trousers, black timberland boots and a blue overcoat.

The search was continuing in Bury on Thursday.
