Police in Manchester arrested eight people at Roy Keane's testimonial match at Old Trafford.
Five were detained on public order offences, one on suspicion of theft, one for assault and one for encroaching on the pitch, at the game on Tuesday.
A small number of people were also ejected from the stadium, Greater Manchester police said.
A crowd of 69,591 watched Manchester United beat Celtic 1-0. Keane played for both sides, swapping at half-time.
Keane, 34, played for his current club in the first half but ran out with his former United team-mates after the break.
GMP had mounted a police operation for the game, but said any trouble only amounted to a "small number" of arrests.
Keane, who left United in December, told the crowd: "This is something I'll remember for the rest of my life."
