Warehouse blaze treated as arson
Fire at Klyne & Klyne warehouse in Salford
About 80 firefighters tackled the blaze at its height
A huge warehouse fire which forced the evacuation of several houses in Greater Manchester may have been started deliberately, investigators say.

Crews were first called to Klyne and Klyne Cash & Carry on Manchester Road, Walkden, Salford, on Sunday evening.

Drivers were warned to avoid the area as the road was closed between Walkden Road and Westminster Road. Seven homes were evacuated.

On Monday, fire officers said the fire was being treated as suspicious.

At its height, 80 firefighters were tackling the blaze and crews are expected to be at the scene damping down until Tuesday morning.

The warehouse has been badly damaged and demolition experts have been called in.
