Aerobic start to the school day
Children working out at St Joseph's in Sale
Teachers join in the workout
Children in Greater Manchester are getting their school days off to an energetic start with aerobics.

Staff join pupils at St Joseph's Primary School in Sale, Greater Manchester, for the playground exercise sessions before school starts.

They are designed to help beat off morning fatigue by increasing energy levels and concentration.

Teachers said the pre-lesson morning workouts help the children focus on their studies.

Head teacher Barbara Harrold said: "All educational research suggests that fit children do well academically, so it is very important for the whole child.

"They do come in the morning and they are ready to work, they settle down and they get on straight away."
