Boy dies after falling on knife
Child lays flowers outside house in Beswick, Manchester
Well-wishers left flowers and messages outside the boy's home
A mother has paid tribute to her "mischievous" four-year-old son who died after injuring himself while playing with a kitchen knife.

Brandon Clawson fell on the knife as he tried to make a sandwich at his home in Beswick, Greater Manchester, on Saturday, say police.

He died later at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Post-mortem tests show he died from a stab wound to the chest.

His mother Andrea Wilson described him as "mischievous, loving and fun".

"I miss him and I want him back," she said.

Miss Wilson, 29, who has two older children - nine-year-old Melissa and eight-year-old Paige - said she loved Brandon "very much".

"I can imagine him playing with his uncle Carl and riding his bike. He used to climb in my bed at night and tell me he loved me."

You were a sweet loving little boy, may the angels take good care of you
Message on card left outside the boy's home
Tributes to the boy, including cuddly toys and a bunch of flowers have been left on the doorstep of the house.

One family member, who did not wish to be named, said: "He picked up a knife from the kitchen. His mum had told him to put it down once. We think he might have hurt himself.

"He was a wonderful little boy, always coming to see me, riding up on his bike."

A card left outside the house read: "You were a sweet loving little boy, may the angels take good care of you."

Another neighbour left a poem which read: "We send a dove of heaven with a parcel on his wings, be careful when you open it, it's full of precious things."

A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said extensive inquiries had been carried out and the incident was no longer being treated as suspicious.
