Police investigate child's death
A four-year-old boy has died in hospital after being found with a serious cut to the side of his body.

Police discovered the boy at a property in Townley Street, in the Beswick area of east Manchester.

He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary but was pronounced dead at 1600 BST on Saturday.

An investigation has begun and a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the death is being treated as suspicious.

The area in which the incident happened is only a short distance from the City of Manchester Stadium.

Teddies and bunches of flowers were left on the pavement outside the house.

One message read: "You were a sweet loving little boy, may the angels take good care of you."

Another neighbour left a poem which read: "We send a dove of heaven with a parcel on his wings, be careful when you open it, it's full of precious things.

"Inside are millions of kisses, wrapped in millions of hugs, to tell you that we miss you and that we send you all our love."
