Pair held in baby murder inquiry

Two people are being questioned on suspicion of murder after the death of a three-month old baby in Manchester.

Police were called to reports of the unconscious child at a house in Maybury Street, Abbey Hey, on Monday afternoon.

The baby was taken to hospital by ambulance but later died. A post-mortem examination has been carried out and tests are ongoing.

A 25-year-old man and a woman, aged 23, were arrested and are being questioned by detectives in Manchester.
