Pensioner conned out of £10,000
Two men conned a 72-year-old woman out of £10,000 after claiming they had carried out work on her house in Greater Manchester.

The men visited her on at least seven occasions between 31 October and 14 December last year.

The pair drove her to the bank twice so she could withdraw the cash to give to them.

Police in Royton, Oldham, are warning elderly people to be on their guard following the incident.

The two men are described as white, in their early 20s and with strong Irish accents. They are believed to drive a white van.

Pc Richard Blomley, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This is a cowardly crime on a vulnerable member of our community."
