Passengers restrain man on flight
Plane passengers, including an off-duty police officer, had to restrain a man who attacked several crew members during a flight.

Officers boarded the incoming flight from Ibiza at Manchester airport during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police said a passenger on the flight had asked one of the cabin crew members for alcohol.

Believing him to be drunk, the woman refused his request and the man became abusive towards her.

It is alleged that he then launched an attack on several members of the cabin crew.

A 41-year old man from Bolton was arrested when the plane landed. He is due to be questioned later on Saturday.

Three members of cabin crew were taken to Wythenshawe Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

All have since been discharged from hospital.
