Man, 50, assaulted in gang attack
A 50-year old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being beaten up by a gang of youths, police have said.

The man was attacked in Lower Broughton, Salford, on Friday night.

Greater Manchester Police said they were called to Grecian Street North over reports a man had been assaulted.

The victim suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Hope Hospital where he had an operation to ensure there was no pressure on his brain.

Police said he is now in a stable condition in intensive care.

One of the assailants is described as a white boy, approximately 6ft tall, 15-17 years old and was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap and a dark coloured coat.

The second offender is described as a white girl, 15-16 years old, with dark hair and wearing a short leopard skin skirt.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
