Hunt for snatched toddler goes on
Corah Boyd
Corah was taken from the Stonehouse day care centre
A two-year-old girl who is believed to have been snatched from care by her natural mother may still be in the Wigan area, police have said.

Detectives believe Corah Boyd was picked up from a day care centre in Greater Manchester by her mother Rebecca Bushell.

Ms Bushell, 21, was at the Stonehouse Resource Centre on St Helens Road in Leigh on Friday afternoon.

The pair were driven to the Abram area of Wigan but have not been seen since.

Police said Corah's foster parents, who live in the Leigh area, were "very upset" and desperate to be reunited with her.

Welfare concerns

Ch Supt Shaun Currie, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "There is nothing to suggest that Corah is in any physical danger.

"However, we do have concerns about her welfare and the longer she is missing the more concerned we, and her foster parents, are becoming.

"I would appeal to Rebecca to contact police in Wigan, either herself or through a third party.

Police have appealed for Ms Bushell to contact them

"I understand her frustrations, especially as it nears Christmas, but we need to know that Corah is safe and well."

Mr Currie said there had been a good public response to an appeal for information which had led them to believe the pair were still in the Wigan area.

The toddler is 2ft 6ins tall with blond hair and brown eyes and was wearing a white hooded top and pink and white trainers.

Her mother is white, slim, with blue eyes and blond hair.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact them.
