Pair arrested over woman's death

Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a 46-year-old woman in Wigan.

Police were called when the woman was taken by ambulance to Wigan Royal Infirmary on Saturday suffering head injuries. She died the next day.

Greater Manchester Police said the death was being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out.

A man, 24, and a woman, 43, both from Bickershaw, are being questioned.
