Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry reports record visits
Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry reported on Wednesday that it is one of the most popular museums in the UK.

Last year, almost half a million people visited the complex, which is situated in one of the world's oldest railway buildings.

The museum attributes the 29% increase in visitor figures from 2003 to the diversity of its exhibitions.

It said its "hugely popular" Titanic exhibition had undoubtedly helped.

Currently showing at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry is the Mysterious Bog People.

The exhibition features human remains unearthed over the past two centuries from the bogs of north-western Europe and explores the rituals and sacrifice that took place thousands of years ago.
