A man has been arrested in connection with five gun crimes over 10 days.
Greater Manchester Police firearms officers arrested Neil Wood, 27, in Derbyshire on Saturday.
The incidents took place in Wigan with shots fired at police officers in one incident and a 60-year-old man left with chest wounds in another.
Two women and a man have also been arrested in connection with the incidents and are being questioned on suspicion of helping an offender.
The first incident took place on 2 November when police officers were shot at while investigating a burglary.
On 8 November shots were fired in the Beech Hill area of the town.
While a 43-year-old woman had her car stolen at gunpoint last Friday.
Thirty-five minutes later a man was taken to hospital after an incident in the Wigan Lane area. He is in a stable condition.
Later that evening two men were threatened with a gun by a man who stole their car.
