A man has been arrested over a series of shootings, including one where shots were fired at police officers.
Neil Wood, 27, of Wigan, was arrested in Derbyshire on suspicion of attempted murder, aggravated burglary and robbery.
Police said they wanted to talk to him in connection with a series of shootings in Wigan, including the one involving police on 1 November.
Earlier, his partner had appealed for Mr Wood to hand himself in.
Officers were fired on in the early hours of 1 November as they investigated reports of a burglary in Wigan. No-one was injured.
Three days later, Greater Manchester Police revealed they were looking for Mr Wood to speak to him in connection with the shooting.

Police are also investigating whether he was involved in a shooting in the Beech Hill area of Wigan on Tuesday and an incident in which a 60-year old man was shot twice in his upper body.
He is now in a stable condition in hospital.
Mr Wood has also been arrested in connection with two carjackings in Wigan last week - both, it is claimed, carried out at gunpoint.
On Saturday, police released a tape recording of his partner, appealing for him to hand himself in.
Hours later he was arrested in Derbyshire by armed officers.
Police say he will be brought back to Greater Manchester for questioning.
