HGV accident victim is identified
The man killed in a truck yard accident on Wednesday has been formerly identified by the police.

Nicholas Joseph Collins, 36, from Edgeley in Stockport was killed when an HGV collided with him while he was at work.

Police were called to the Stockport Truck Centre on Broadway in Dukinfield following reports that Mr Collins had been in a serious accident.

Police said Mr Nicholas later died at the scene.

Mr Nicholas leaves behind his daughter Rebecca, aged 16, and son Jack, aged 10. He also leaves behind his fiancee, Melanie Brogan, 26, his father, two brothers, a sister and other close family members.

On Thursday, his family said: "We are absolutely devastated, we can't believe we have lost Nicholas in such a tragic way.

"He will be sadly missed by us all."

A joint police and Health and Safety Executive investigation has been launched.
