A 47-year-old man has been charged with breaching a football banning order following his arrest at Manchester Airport on Wednesday.
Anthony O'Neill, of Birtles Close, Cheadle, Greater Manchester, was arrested at Terminal Two.
A Gtr Manchester Police spokeswoman said police believed he was heading for Manchester United's Champions League match with Lille in France.
Mr O'Neill is due before Trafford magistrates later.
