Police have been given a further 24 hours to question a man suspected of murdering a Manchester gangster.
Desmond Noonan appeared on Channel Five's MacIntyre Underworld programme on Tuesday evening, claiming he had "more guns than the police".
The 45-year-old, who police said had convictions for serious criminal offences, was found stabbed to death in Merseybank Avenue, Chorlton, on Friday.
Magistrates approved a warrant of further detention on Wednesday.
Injunction overturned
A post-mortem examination was conducted over the weekend and the cause of death established as a knife wound to the abdomen.
Mr Noonan, who was known as Dessie, appeared in the documentary focusing on the life of his brother, Dominic.
An injunction, sought by Greater Manchester Police to prevent the film being shown, was overturned at the 11th hour by the High Court, allowing transmission to go ahead.
The force said it had been concerned about "potential prejudicial comments made" in the programme.
