Ellese died at the crash scene
Police are examining CCTV footage in the hunt for a driver who knocked over a nine-year-old girl and drove off.

Ellese Gore, of Leslie Street in Tonge Moor, Bolton, Greater Manchester, died at the scene of the crash on Kay Street on Wednesday night.

Her two friends, aged 11 and 15, who were crossing the road at the same time, were not injured.

A 19-year-old man arrested by Greater Manchester police has now been freed on police bail.

Police said a dark-coloured Vauxhall Corsa failed to stop and was last seen driving along St Peter's Way.

Shiny paintwork

The car is said to have tinted or blacked out windows and a distinctive silver strip running along the width of the back.

It has wider than normal wheels and shiny paintwork.

Witnesses to the crash, which happened on Kay Street at its junction with Topp Way, have described seeing the car travelling at about 40-50mph.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact them.
