Police hold AC Milan team doctor
Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium
Manchester United and AC Milan meet at Old Trafford
AC Milan's team doctor has been arrested after an alleged incident involving a chambermaid at a luxury Salford hotel.

Armando Gozzini, 44, was arrested on Tuesday night after Greater Manchester Police were called to The Lowry hotel.

They had received reports that a man had exposed himself to a female member of staff at about 2150 GMT.

Manchester United met AC Milan in Wednesday's Champions League clash at Old Trafford.

Mr Gozzini was believed to be receiving a massage from a female member of staff in the spa suite of The Lowry Hotel when the alleged indecent exposure happened.

Club statement

A spokesman for the Italian club said: "AC Milan wishes to express its full confidence in its club doctor, Dr Armando Gozzini.

"Dr Gozzini is a man of the highest professional and moral standing."

The spokesman said the club believed it was "inconceivable" the doctor could have been involved in such actions.

"The club hopes to see a swift and satisfactory conclusion to this matter."

A spokesman for the hotel declined to comment saying it was a police matter.
