A rapist who filmed himself attacking a 19-year-old woman in Greater Manchester has been jailed for 14 years.
Leaver filmed himself raping his 19-year-old victim
Jon Leaver, 23, of Mayfield Street, Atherton, planned to send the phone images to his friends but was unaware he was being filmed by CCTV cameras.
Liverpool Crown Court heard Leaver broke his victim's jaw in two places. He was convicted of rape and grievous bodily harm in August.
The victim said on Thursday: "This has totally changed my life."
In a statement, she added: "I still have fears about stepping outside the house on my own.
"I'm trying the best I can to get on with my life, but it is difficult and obviously I have a constant reminder with the injuries I have suffered."
The jury had been told the attack happened in Leigh on 19 February after Leaver and his victim met at Barbarellas nightclub.
Leaver, who has a tattoo on his stomach featuring the disfigured face of a woman, had kissed his victim inside the club before leaving to get taxis at about 0150 BST.
He walked her to a bus station and he pushed her against a wall, but when she attempted to make him stop he punched her unconscious.
Leaver then used his mobile phone to record himself performing a sex act on her.
He was disturbed by a passer-by but carried his victim to another back street where he punched her again.
'Contempt for women'
After being disturbed a second time, he ran off, leaving the unconscious woman to be helped by a member of the public.
Judge David Boulton called the attack "abhorrent".
Sentencing Leaver on Thursday, the judge said: "The tattoo which you carry is disturbing and shows, in your adoption of the attitude towards that tattoo, a contempt for women and I consider that you are extremely dangerous to women.
"The violence you used was extreme to the point of being sadistic and I wonder when I see the tattoo and I see what you did to that woman's face whether you were attempting to obliterate a face."
Det Con Pete Morris, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "After befriending the woman in the nightclub, Leaver brutally raped her, leaving her in the street with horrific injuries.
"He is evidently a danger to women and we are pleased that the sentence reflects the gravity of the offences.
"The victim has been scarred for life at the hands of Leaver and I only hope that today's sentence will help her to move on and rebuild her life."
