Oldham Council has bought the Roxy
A historic cinema is close its doors for the last time after a deal was struck for it to be sold.

The Roxy on Oldham Road, Hollinwood, Greater Manchester, will show its last film to audiences on Thursday.

It has been sold to Oldham Council, as a "prime site", which will be central to regeneration plans at the Hollinwood junction - the "gateway to Oldham".

The cinema stands on the main route between the town and Manchester and is right at the junction of the M60.
