A couple accused of kidnapping women off the streets and forcing them into sex acts have been jailed for 10 years.

Robert Nyack, 47, of Victoria, London, and Sonia Browne, 43, of Moss Side in Manchester, were told they posed a "considerable danger to women."

Both were convicted of indecent assault, kidnapping, attempted kidnap and false imprisonment on Thursday.

Manchester Crown Court heard the pair told victims they "wanted some fun" and asked them to take part in threesomes.

Nyack, who was nicknamed "Rapture," also pleaded guilty to living off the earnings of a prostitute and Browne admitted controlling prostitution.

Calling cards
Police found calling cards in Browne's Moss Side home
The pair targeted women in their 20s, subjecting them to the "stuff of nightmares."

Browne's home was searched after a number of the women alerted the police.

Officers found paperwork referring to the couple looking for sexual partners, including several calling cards.

The court was told how one of the victims was lured off the street and into their car after Nyack posed as a taxi driver.

"Quite drunk" after leaving a Manchester nightclub, the woman opened her eyes and realised she was lying naked on a bed.

A man and a woman, who the victim later identified as Nyack and Browne, were sat naked next to her on the bed.

The court heard about another assault, involving a woman who was approached by Browne in the Stockwell area of London.

She was pushed into a car and asked by Nyack if she wanted to take part in a threesome.

The woman declined and, although she was in a distressed state, managed to get out of the car.

She later gave the police the registration of the couple's BMW car.
