A company from Manchester is doing its bit to help England succeed in the Euro 2004 championships - by helping the squad get a good night's sleep.
Private Sanctuary, based in the city's Northern Quarter, have furnished their Portuguese hotel rooms with special pillows, mattresses and duvets.
The products mould to the body's shape and claim to improve quality of sleep.
The agreement between the company and the Football Association (FA) is thought to be the first of its kind.
High-level performance
Company Director Nick Littlehales said the players need more specific products as they will be sleeping or relaxing for about half the time they are in Portugal.
"As with the majority of hotels around the world the sleep products have to accommodate everyone and also be durable so they tend not to be that comfortable.
"They might be okay for a stopover or short break but the England squad have to perform at the highest levels," he added.
England coach Sven Goran Eriksson will also benefit from a pampered night's sleep.
He said: "We are grateful for the support from Private Sanctuary in ensuring our players are comfortable in Portugal whilst they are away from home."
