Man arrested over schoolgirl rape

A man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl at knifepoint as she walked to school in Greater Manchester.

She was attacked as she crossed fields off Bradley Green Road, Hyde, by a man who grabbed her and pulled her into some bushes.

The incident happened on Friday, 7 May close to Astley High School.

Detectives arrested a 30-year-old man from the Tameside area on Wednesday and were due to question him later.

Police said the girl was left "very traumatised" by the attack.
