Schoolgirl is raped at knifepoint
Police are hunting a man who raped a 15-year-old girl while she was walking to school in Greater Manchester.

She was crossing a field off Bradley Green Road, Hyde, when a man grabbed her, pulled her into some bushes and attacked her.

The incident took place near the back of Astley High School.

Her attacker is described as white, about 30 years old, 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build, with a shaved head and thin lips.

'Very traumatised'

He had a cut to his mouth and was wearing a denim cap, a cream hooded top, tracksuit bottoms, grey gloves and had an earring with a small bell on it in his left ear.

Police have recovered the knife that was used in the attack.

Detective Inspector Derek Weaver, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This was a horrific attack on a teenage girl who has been left very traumatised by her ordeal.

"We need to catch this man as soon as possible and as we have a very clear description of him we are hoping the public will be able to help us track him down."
