The body of a teenager who went missing after a boating accident in which his father and brother died, has been found.

Steven Ridley, 15, of Leigh, Greater Manchester, had been missing since the motorboat capsized on Loch Ryan, Dumfries and Galloway, on 12 July.

His father Shaun, 37, died after trying to save Steven and his 12-year-old younger brother Michael.

A body was recovered in August at Port Logan, about 14 miles from where Steven disappeared.

Dumfries and Galloway Police said it had been positively identified as Steven.

His father and brother were still alive when they were pulled from the water by a lifeboat crew after drifting for up to five hours.

But hospital staff were unable to save them.

The boys' grandfather Brian Ridley, 61, and family friend Harvey Haughton, 58, survived the accident by clinging to upturned hull.
