Heavy rain forces road closures

Police and highways officials closed a number of roads in parts of London after heavy overnight rain led to localised flash flooding.

In north London the busy A41 at Brent Cross was temporarily closed, together with Apex Corner at Barnet and Devonshire Road.

Mill Hill Circus was partially flooded and Robin Hood Way in Wimbledon was also closed. They were reopened later.

Police advised drivers to allow extra time for journeys.
