Five arrested over teenage murder in east London

Police investigating the murder of an 18-year-old woman in east London have arrested five people.

Two males - one aged 17, the other 45 - have been arrested on suspicion of murder after Aliza Ahmed Mirza was found in Forest View Road, Manor Park.

Miss Mirza, of Landsdowne Road, Ilford, was found injured on Saturday evening and later died in hospital.

Two women, aged 20 and 41, and a 42-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Those arrested were all in custody at several east London police stations.

Scotland Yard said Ms Mirza's next-of-kin had been informed.

A spokesperson said officers were keeping "an open mind" as to the motive of the killing.

A post-mortem examination was scheduled for Monday at East Ham Mortuary.
