New ticket hall opens at King's Cross

A £800m ticket hall has been unveiled at King's Cross station in central London.

London Mayor Boris Johnson and Minister For London Tessa Jowell officially opened the "state of the art" Northern Ticket Hall.

It doubles the capacity and improves accessibility for the 300,000 passengers that use the underground station each day.

The Northern Ticket Hall will open to the public on 29 November.

The work at King's Cross is part of Transport for London's £10bn investment programme and was funded by the Department for Transport.

King's Cross will also be a key station during the 2012 London Olympics.
