The brother of a London woman who drowned when her boat overturned off Vietnam in September has died in a traffic collision.

Karen Puddifoot, 27, from Northwood, north-west London, died when her boat capsized in a storm at Halong Bay.

Her 22-year-old brother Chris died on Tuesday when a BMW he was in collided with a car in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Parents Michael and Mei Puddifoot said losing their children has left them "numb and at a loss for words".

Karen Puddifoot was among five people who drowned when the packed boat overturned on 24 September.

She and fellow Briton Tim Roney, 21, died while taking part in an around-the-world charity cycle trip, which her brother Chris had also participated in.

Words cannot describe the shock of our loss of such a beautiful son and how we will cope without them both

Mr Puddifoot, an assistant manager at St Luke's Hospice Shop in Pinner, north London, died when the car he was a passenger in collided with a Vauxhall Astra travelling in the opposite direction.

His parents described Mr Puddifoot as "a model son" who was "a tower of strength to us after we lost Karen".

"He was warm and caring and was loved by all who met him," they said.

"No parent should ever have to outlive a child but losing two of our children in less than two months has left us numb and at a loss for words.

"Words cannot describe the shock of our loss of such a beautiful son and how we will cope without them both."

Mr Puddifoot's girlfriend Abigail Bains said: "He was my best friend and I loved him the most - he was my favourite person. He meant everything to me."
