Thirteen held after armed brawl

Sticks, metal poles, bottles, an axe and a stun gun were found at the scene of a disturbance in east London in which one man was seriously injured.

Police were called early on Sunday to reports of disorder outside the Aksia Lounge on Southend Road in East Ham. They found several people fighting.

Two men were found injured at the scene and a third had collapsed nearby.

Police said the violence and disorder was on a serious scale and widespread damage was caused in the area.

One man remains in hospital, where he is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Thirteen people were arrested at the scene and taken to police stations across east London.

All are now on bail whilst detectives interview witnesses and conduct forensic investigations.
