Appeal after man shot in the head

A man is in a life-threatening condition after he was shot in the head in a south-east London street.

Police were called shortly after 0200 BST on Monday to reports of a man shot in Clements Road, in Rotherhithe.

The man, who is thought to be in his twenties, was taken to a south London hospital where he is being treated.

Officers are appealing for information and are keeping an open mind regarding a motive. They are trying to establish his identity and trace next of kin.
