Top executives at the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) have run up expenses of more than £108,000, which included attending the Beijing Olympics. Chairman John Armitt claimed £11,561 while the chief executive David Higgins was reimbursed for £6,722 last year. But the highest bill, of £19,343, was submitted by the ODA's director of construction Howard Shiplee who spent 62 nights in hotels. Several executives of the ODA travelled to Beijing on fact-finding missions. 'Within budget' An ODA spokesman said: "In total, ODA expenses for 2008-09 are around £100,000. This covers the 15 members of the board and eight members of the executive management team. "This year's expenses included the cost of all of the board and directors going to Beijing for the 2008 Games. This includes flights, hotels, tickets and other expenses. "This accounts for 40% of the total expenses bill for the year." The figures were made public as the external structure of the 2012 stadium in Stratford, east London, was completed. Mr Armitt said the work was "on track and within budget."
