Pair charged with toddler murder

A man and a woman from south-east London have been charged with the murder of a 21-month-old boy.

He was taken to hospital after the London Ambulance Service was called to an address in Bexleyheath on 29 December last year.

A post-mortem examination found the boy died from multiple injuries.

The man, 25, and woman, 29, appeared at Bexley Magistrates Court on Thursday. They were remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on 22 October.
