Arrest in injured officer probe

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a robbery, which left a police officer seriously injured.

The male officer, aged 30, was sent to a report of aggravated burglary in Dagenham, east London, on Saturday.

After a car chase, the firearms officer suffered head injuries in a street in Newham. His condition remains critical.

Three other people who have already been charged with robbery have appeared at Waltham Forest Magistrates Court. Their case was adjourned to June 24.

Mansour-Jacques Jallow, 26, and Temitope Iyiola, 19, both of no fixed address, and Mary Fowler, 21, of Ibex House, Forest Lane, east London, were remanded in custody.

The 19-year-old was arrested in north west London and is in custody at an east London police station.

The officer was injured at about 0600 BST on Saturday, when armed officers attempted to stop a vehicle in Stratford, east London.
