An 18-year-old has been shot dead in a north London street.

Abdulkarim Boudiaf was found with a single gunshot wound to his neck in Broadwater Road, Tottenham, at 2220 GMT on Saturday, police said.

No-one has been arrested. Mr Boudiaf, from South Tottenham, was of Algerian origin, police said. A post-mortem examination will take place on Monday.

Police said they were keeping an open mind as to a motive although it was not believed to be gang-related.

Residents of Broadwater Road said the shooting took place close to Elmhurst Hotel in nearby Lordship Lane, where a party was held on Saturday night.

Hotel staff did not believe customers were involved.

The shooting followed the fatal stabbing of another 18-year-old in Walthamstow, east London, on Friday night.

Wahab Zaaki, from Chingford, died from multiple stab wounds. A 17-year-old youth was arrested on suspicion of his murder.
