Teenager sex assaults 'connected'

Police believe a man who molested a teenage girl may have been behind a similar attack three months ago.

Detectives suspect the same man was behind two daylight canalside attacks in west and north London.

Earlier, a 14-year-old girl was assaulted by a man on the Grand Union canal towpath near Notting hill in west London.

In September a 15-year-old girl was groped on the towpath near Camden Lock in north London.

Det Con Karl Lewis said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed either of these incidents or who was walking along the towpath on 9 September or today.

"In the second incident there were a number of cyclists who will have passed the victim and we would urge those people to come forward."
