Woman in park sexually assaulted

A 41-year-old woman has been sexually assaulted in a central London park.

She was walking on her own along Budge's Walk in Kensington Gardens, west London, at about 0650GMT on Monday when she was attacked.

She managed to bite the finger of her assailant which gave her time to escape. Police are looking for a man aged between 25 and 30.

Scotland Yard said the suspect is light-skinned, of Middle-Eastern appearance, slim and clean-shaven.

He is also described as being between 5ft 4in and 5ft 6in and has short, black wavy hair.

At the time of the attack he was wearing dark trousers and a black bomber-style jacket.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Cunneen Belgravia CID said: "This was a highly unpleasant attack on a woman walking on her own in the park.

"We are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was walking along the Budge's Walk pathway between 0630 and 0715, or anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area on that Monday morning."
