Pair charged over police shooting

Two men have been charged with shooting at police officers who were attempting to stop an allegedly stolen car in west London.

Shots were fired through the rear window of a silver Audi as it was pursued in Ladbroke Grove on Wednesday.

Christopher Ryan, 18, from Kensal Town, west London, and Nicholas Bidar, 21, from Cricklewood, have been charged with using a firearm to resist arrest.

They have also been charged with stealing a security van.

The men appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Friday.

They remain in custody, to appear at Kingston Crown Court on 3 March.

A 16-year-old youth was arrested on Thursday in connection with the incident but released on bail.
