Mother convicted of killing baby

A mother has been found guilty of killing her three-month-old baby who died from a head injury.

Joseph Kompus died at his home in Walthamstow, east London, in September last year from brain damage.

His injury was equal to that of a car accident or a fall from a first floor window, the Old Bailey heard.

His mother, Maria Kompusova, 22, was found guilty of manslaughter after being cleared of murder. She will be sentenced on 14 January.

The Slovakian national had tried to blame her partner for her son's death.
