'Dangerous' armed robber escapes

Ashley Waterman is serving a five-year sentence for armed robbery

A "dangerous" armed robber has escaped from a secure unit in west London.

Ashley Waterman, 21, had been taken from Feltham Young Offenders Institution to a secure unit to undergo a mental health assessment.

Unit staff reported him missing at 0100 GMT on Saturday. He is serving a five-year sentence for armed robbery.

He is described as white, 5ft 8in (1.7m) tall, of slim build, with short light brown hair. He is known to have connections in Paddington, west London.

A police spokesman said: "He is considered dangerous and should not be approached."
