Seventh charge over stabbed youth

Shakilus Townsend was hit with a baseball bat and stabbed

A 17-year-old youth has become the seventh person to be charged with the murder of Shakilus Townsend.

Shakilus, from Deptford, south-east London, was beaten with a baseball bat and repeatedly stabbed in Thornton Heath on 3 July.

The teenager will appear before Sutton magistrates on Thursday.

Five other males and one 15-year-old girl have already been charged with the murder of the 16-year-old in Beulah Crescent in Thornton Heath.
