Boy stabbed in afternoon attack

A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in an attack in east London, police said.

Officers were called to reports of the incident in East Avenue, Walthamstow, at about 1640 GMT on Saturday.

The teenager was taken to hospital where his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said.

Detectives said they were being "open-minded" as to the circumstances of the attack. They added that investigations were continuing.
