Seven puppies have been found abandoned in a cardboard box in north London.
The crossbreed dogs were found on the Edgecote housing estate in Tottenham on 17 September, following a call to the RSPCA from a member of the public.
The charity has begun an investigation and is looking for a home for the eight-week-old puppies.
The five male and two female puppies are being cared for at the Southridge RSPCA Animal Centre in Packhorse Lane, Potters Bar in Hertfordshire.
Anna White, manager of the animal centre, said: "I just cannot believe that people behave like this.
"It just shows how dogs are now being treated as a disposable commodity."
