A man has been charged with the murder of Gloria Burgos, who was found beaten to death in her south-east London cafe.

A delivery man found 54-year-old Mrs Burgos' body in Goode Food Cafe, in Bermondsey Street in the London Bridge area, on Monday night.

Slawomir Zakrzewski, 22, from Crystal Palace, south-east London, was arrested on Wednesday.

Mr Zakrzewski will appear at Greenwich Magistrates Court charged with her murder on Saturday.

Mrs Burgos' daughter Elizabeth described her mother as "extremely hardworking and very good hearted".

"She put her heart and soul into running her sandwich bar and was deeply respected by all in the community," she said.
