More arrests over teenager murder

Five people, including four youths, have been arrested over the fatal stabbing of a schoolboy in east London.

Shaquille Smith, 14, was stabbed in the stomach in Hackney on 30 August, as he sat on a bench near his home, and died the following day.

Police said three 17-year-olds and a man of 18, were held on Wednesday and another youth, aged 17, handed himself in at police station on Thursday.

Six other teenagers have been charged with murdering Shaquille.

A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named, appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court on Thursday charged with murder.

Godiowe Dufeal, 19, of Well Street, Homerton, and a 16-year old male from Hackney, both east London, are both charged with murder and are due to appear at the Old Bailey on 3 October.

George Amponsah, 18, of Greenwood Road, Hackney, along with two youths, aged 16 and 17, also from Hackney, are due at the Old Bailey on 12 December charged with murder.
