Another bike - an ex-Roland Martin, Brooklands, 1927 Zenith-JAP 8/4hp Championship Motorcycle Combination -fetched £177,500 at the same auction.
Both vehicles were among the 25 bikes from vintage bike enthusiast Brian Verrall's collection up for auction.
This 1927 dated motorbike also commanded high price at the auction

Ben Walker, head of Bonhams' Motorcycle Department, said: "I am absolutely delighted with these results achieved.
"It must also be acknowledged that the success of the sale had much to do with the discrimination and good judgment Brian Verrall had when he built this outstanding collection."
The last motorbike to command a high price was a 1934 Brough Superior 996cc SS100 which went for £166,500 in April.
