London has been voted the best UK city to visit.

The city beat the likes of Cambridge, Liverpool and Edinburgh to scoop the accolade at the Conde Nast Traveller Reader Travel Awards.

The award-winning cities, countries and travel companies were selected using feedback from thousands of readers of the travel magazine.

The readers thought London's nightlife, entertainment, culture and restaurants were the best anywhere in the UK.

London Mayor Boris Johnson said the award was testament to the wealth and variety of attractions in London.
